We are a nonprofit initiative that empowers K–12 leaders with evidence-based insights to make confident, student-centered decisions.

Grounded in Evidence, Driven by Behavioral Science

We specialize in translating research and market signals into actionable guidance for education leaders. By applying behavioral science, we help partners not only access high quality evidence, but use it effectively in decision-making.

Mission (Today)

Our mission is to strengthen the K–12 ecosystem by turning evidence into action. As a nonprofit, we help districts adopt high-quality instructional materials and support actors in the education sector with behavioral science and research-based guidance.

Vision (Tomorrow)

We envision a future where every student has access to equitable, engaging learning experiences. By aligning evidence, resources, and people, we work toward classrooms that thrive and decisions that consistently put students first.

Who we help

Beyond catering to evidence-creating and curating organizations, our aspiration extends to encompass traditional research entities engaged in generating knowledge concerning the quality of instructional materials, educational technology, and professional learning. This includes universities, educational research firms, governmental agencies within the education sector, and independent education researchers. Our toolkit is poised to enlighten the research agendas of these entities and contribute to the efficacy of their dissemination efforts.

Primarily, this toolkit is designed to cater to organizations dedicated to the creation or curation of evidence related to indicators of high-quality instructional materials, educational technology, and professional learning services. Our objective is to harness the comprehensive research conducted by The Decision Lab, delving into the decision-making dynamics of school district buyers. By applying these insights, our aim is to build the capacity of these organizations to broaden their impact and enhance the uptake of their evidence.

Peripherally, the resources within this toolkit serve as a pivotal initiation for funders seeking to strategically invest in the expansion of research activities within the education sector. These resources illuminate extensive research insights pertaining to educator preferences and behaviours, as well as the capacity requirements of evidence-creating and -curating organizations and entities.

We partner with providers of high-quality instructional materials, educational technology, and curriculum-aligned professional learning to bridge the gap between product excellence and market adoption. By applying our behavioral insights into district buyer dynamics, we work with support organizations to assist these providers in refining their go-to-market strategies and better reach their target district.

Through our strategic partnerships with market actors and our open access resources, we equip district administrators and procurement teams with the behavioral science-informed frameworks necessary to navigate complex purchasing decisions with confidence. Recognizing that many constraints under which district leaders make procurement decisions, our resources are designed to streamline the evaluation process and mitigate the influence of market noise to support the adoption of high quality materials.

Our Methology:
